The Administrator's Column
January 2007
Are we ready to move onward and upward into the New Year? We're at the doorstep of 2007, with so many projects begun -- and so many completed. What a joy it is to move around the property and see the freshness. You can just feel the revitalization in the air.
Besides all the improvements here, the new nineteen passenger bus has arrived in time for the New Year. I know you'll be more comfortable having three buses -- one for each church. We're grateful for this new addition, even though it will mean added expense to The Willows. But we know that "every right idea comes with its own supply." We have already received some funds to help offset this new expense.
We're also grateful to be able to still take a few applications for move-ins. We have several inquires scheduled for January, and our villas are being filled on a consistent basis. I just love hearing people talk about how wonderful it is to be able to live here. We certainly have a unique opportunity to live in this beautiful setting with fellow Christian Scientists.
Along with the renovation projects at The Willows, December has been a month filled with social activities. The Candlelight Dinner and entertainment were a success. Around the complex, individuals gathered for carol singing followed by cider and cookers in the Garden Room. Christmas day bought folks to the Garden Room for cookies and punch, along with some good fellowship.
Be sure to mark your calendar for the Foundation Board's Annual Meeting on Saturday, January 13, at 2 p.m. In addition to reports from the Board, Anne Cooling, C.S. will speak. Light refreshments will be served immediately following.
May you all have a God-filled, blessed New Year.
