The Administrator's Column

February 2007

Having heard reports at The Willows Foundation annual meeting on January 13, and the quarterly residents meeting on January 17, you should be so up-to-date that this column isn't necessary. However I never miss an opportunity to tell you how grateful I am to serve here, and to be part of this wonderful organization.

After so many major repairs and projects in 2006, it was a joy to report that we ended the year with more funds than we started with. Isn't that the most wonderful news you could be privy to?

One of the projects for 2007 is already completed. Our intercom system now circumvents the telephone system. A microphone is now in place to air the announcements without the challenges we've had.

The pressure washing and sealing of the tile roofs is almost completed. Just four buildings left to do. Then we will continue painting the villas. The painting can go forward -- systematically -- now that the termite treatment is completed with all the exterior wood replaced.

The new carpeting was installed in the Garden Room at the end of January. I think you'll like the way it carries out the "garden" effect. This year we'll be exploring how we can add bathrooms to this area.

Of course there will be continual villa rehabbing and refurbishing throughout the year. By the end of February only four villas will be available, and we'll begin using some of the guest houses as permanent rentals. We plan to keep a minimum number of guest houses for families and friends.

We all truly can see that 2006 was a landmark year at The Willows. With your continued metaphysical support, we expect this trend to continue through 2007 -- and forever.

Lovingly,

Sandy Toner
