The Administrator's Column

March 2007

This is the most exciting time at The Willows. People are calling and wanting to rent villas left and right. I have seven inquiries on my desk as I write this. We are just so filled with life here, I can barely wait to get to work each day to see what will unfold next.

The Garden Room is still a work in progress. So far, I have heard nothing but wonderful comments about the carpet, and progress to date. The Valentine cookie social was a big success. If you didn't get a cookie, well you missed out. Everyone sat around while the fire blazed and conversation flowed.

John Mitchell will be here on Saturday, March 3, with the Longyear presentation. You'll surely want to see the latest video presentation regarding Mrs. Eddy's Lynn and Chestnut Hill homes that Longyear recently purchased.

I would like to ask you all a favor. When you give me a note or information regarding anything, would you please sign it? No matter what the situation is, I like to respond personally. I can't do that if I don't know who wrote the message.

Hopefully you are aware that - in addition to the Board dinner - we will be trying an evening meal each month. The second Thursday of the month has been designated. So, those of you who have been asking for an evening meal, I really will be looking for you there.

Many residents are attending the Spanish class that Dorothy Mulford is teaching. She has also been teaching English classes for the staff for several months. Both of these classes are a wonderful addition to The Willows.

Joyce Armstrong mans the Friday luncheons in the Garden Room with volunteer help. Sandwiches are now being purchased at Yolanda's, and Agui's wonderful homemade soup is always a hit. The first few Friday luncheons were well attended.

Joyce is also heading up the chair excise sessions on Saturday. Many of you are enjoying the opportunity to "move about" in an organized way. Some of us are still doing our "moving about" by walking and bike riding. But whatever you enjoy is entirely up to you.

Have a great month as we March forward...
