The Administrator's Column
April 2007
Spring is here and flowers are blooming everywhere. It is a beautiful time at The Willows.
The pressure washing of roof tiles is complete. Hurrah to our maintenance crew. You have no idea how much was saved by our staff doing this work. The building painting continues.
The residents' vegetable garden boxes have been filled with fresh soil, and are being planted with good veggies and flowers. All the boxes are beginning to show signs of someone tending and caring for them. We would tuck you in somewhere, however, if you have this wonderful desire to plant something.
The additional evening meal in March was a huge success. Many people gave up other events to support this activity. We will try it for three months and see if the support holds. If it continues, we will make a second evening meal a regular monthly event.
If you know those who are considering moving to The Willows at some future time, encourage them to get their names on our list. We are beginning to show and rent guest houses. I plan to maintain about six for your family use, and for regular visitors. But I will rent the other six, if they are needed.
So let your family and friends know that we would love having them here, and will trust that we can accommodate them when they are ready.
The newly decorated Garden Room (plus Agui's home made soup, and sandwiches from Yolanda's) seems to be a hit with everyone. If you haven't joined us for the luncheon on Fridays, you are missing out.
It's April -- now don't let anyone fool you!
