The Administrator's Column

October 2007

Fall is coming into its own, and the rains are beginning. I just want to stand in the rain when it starts. Everything is so fresh and clean.

Everyone truly appeared to enjoy the Rockabrand's musical program. It was certainly well attended.

Activity is abounding... with many move-ins and a few moving out. The staff is certainly being kept busy. Three storage units have been cleared. The refurbishing of Villa 247 is in full swing. It has been rented already. The furniture give-away was done quickly, hopefully with everyone getting the pieces he/she wanted. It seems as soon as we clear out, we receive more. Our supply is endless.

We're trying to determine what to do about heating the pool. I'm sorry so few of you use it. The solar panels have deteriorated and were leaking. They have been shut off. They would need replacing, unless we heat strictly with gas. We're exploring options as you read this. Our pool maintenance man has checked the heating system. It should be functioning adequately now. Keep me posted.

The raised garden plots are ready for winter planting. You might want to consider putting in some crops. Some of you already have planted lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, snow peas, and winter tomatoes. It's never too late in the year for some planting when you live in sunny Southern California.

As for me, I just want to relax and enjoy this cool weather. Fall for me is the best season ever. Of course I love the Christmas season, and spring and summer, too. Guess I just love them all!
